Showcase Your Spurs Spirit on Social Media for a Chance to Win NBA Finals Tickets
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs are encouraging fans to get in their Spurs gear and “Black Out” San Antonio on NBA Finals game days to generate a groundswell of support that reverberates throughout San Antonio and South Texas.
The San Antonio Spurs will host the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, June 5 at 8 p.m. at the AT&T Center. To help elevate the arena atmosphere, black Spurs NBA Finals t-shirts and noisemakers, courtesy of H-E-B, Rico’s and SACU, will be distributed to all patrons attending Game 1.
City Councilman Diego Bernal and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff will offer official proclamations at Alamo Plaza today at 6 p.m. in support of the “Black Out” initiative.
“This is a special time to be a Spurs fan and we want to lend and encourage as much support as possible,” said Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff. “The ‘Black Out’ is a fun way to unite the fan base during the NBA Finals and have them showcase their unbridled enthusiasm on game days at the AT&T Center or wherever Spurs fans may be watching the games.”
Whether at work or at play, Spurs fans are encouraged to participate in the “Black Out” via social media by submitting photos and videos showcasing their Spurs spirit on Facebook Facebook.com/Spurs, Twitter @Spurs, Instagram @OfficialSpurs or Snapchat (OfficialSpurs), throughout the NBA Finals. Fans should use the hashtag #GoSpursGo and the best content will be featured on the Playoff Central page of Spurs.com. Participants will have a chance to win the most coveted off all prizes – tickets to the NBA Finals.
The Spurs are also asking local businesses to allow their employees to sport Spurs gear at the work place. Those supporting their Spurs may get a surprise visit from the Spurs RV, along with The Coyote, Silver Dancers and Team Energy, which will be stopping at various locations throughout the city to hand out free Spurs merchandise in appreciation of their loyalty.
