Spurs Acquire Austin Daye

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have acquired forward Austin Daye from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Nando De Colo. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not announced.

Daye, 6-11/200, was in his first season playing for the Raptors. Drafted 15th overall in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft by Detroit, Daye has also suited up for the Memphis Grizzlies (2012-13) and Detroit Pistons (2009-13). In 245 career NBA games, Daye is averaging 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15.4 minutes.

Daye also played internationally for BC Khimki of Russia in 2011. Collegiately, the California native attended Gonzaga University from 2007-09, and in 67 games averaged 11.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 22.5 minutes.

Daye will wear No. 23 for the Spurs.

De Colo was drafted by San Antonio with the 53rd overall pick in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft. He appeared in 98 games for the Spurs over the past two seasons, holding averages of 4.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 12.5 minutes.
