Spurs Announce Training Camp Roster

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs today announced their 2013-14 training camp roster.

The Spurs current roster stands at 20 players, and includes the additions of veteran forwards Corey Maggette and Sam Young in addition to center Marcus Cousin, guards Courtney Fells and Myck Kabongo and forward Dan Nwaelele (updated roster attached).

Maggette (6-6, 225), a 14-year NBA veteran, appeared in 18 games with the Detroit Pistons last season, averaging 5.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14.3 minutes. He enjoyed his best season with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2004-05 when he appeared in 66 games, averaging 22.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals. For his career he has appeared in 827 career games with 478 starts, averaging 16.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists, while shooting .453 (4065-8969) from the floor and .822 (4,605-5,599) from the free-throw line.

A four-year NBA veteran, Young (6-6, 225), spent last season with the Indiana Pacers where appeared in 56 games, averaging 2.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 12.4 minutes. His best season came in 2009-10 with the Memphis Grizzlies when he appeared in 80 games, averaging 7.4 points and 2.5 rebounds, while converting on .451 (224-497) of his attempts from the field. For his career, he has appeared in 249 games, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds, while shooting .442 (560-1266) from the floor and .742 (267-360) from the free-three line.
