Spurs in London Update - August 4, 2012

France 73, Tunisia 69 – Tony Parker scored  22 points on 9-of-13 shooting and collected 3 assists and 3 steals to lead France past Tunisia on Saturday. Boris Diaw added 4 rebounds and 5 assists in a team-high 31 minutes of play.  Nando De Colo registered 6 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. The win improved France to 3-1 overall in the 2012 Olympics and is one victory over Nigeria (Monday, 8:30 a.m.) away from clinching the second spot in Group A. >> View photos from this game.

Argentina 93, Nigeria 79 – Manu Ginobili totaled 13 points on 3-of-6 shooting and posted 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in Argentina’s victory over Nigeria on Saturday.  The win improved the Argentineans to 3-1 overall and sets up a meeting against the United States (4-0) on Monday at 4:15 p.m.

Brazil 98, China 59 – Tiago Splitter racked up 12 points and 3 rebounds in Brazil’s dominant win over China on Saturday.  Due to the blowout win in which Brazil never trailed, Splitter was only needed for 13 minutes of the contest.  The Brazilians, now 3-1, will battle for the second spot in Group B when they match up against Spain (3-1) on Monday (Monday, 2 p.m.). Australia 106, Great Britain 75 – Patty Mills recorded a team-high 39 points on 14-of-22 (.636) shooting, including 5 three-pointers, to lead Australia past host-city Great Britain on Saturday.  Mills, who scored 25 of his points in the second half, also added 5 rebounds and 2 assists.  Mills and Australia (2-2) have secured the fourth spot in Group B and will face the United States in the quarterfinals if the US defeats Argentina on Monday.  >> View photos from this game.
