Spurs TV Broadcasts Post Impressive Ratings

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that their Fox Sports Southwest television broadcast rating for the 2011-12 regular season was the second-highest in franchise history. FSSW began televising Spurs games 25 seasons ago in 1987.

Fox Sports Southwest finished the regular season with an 8.0 rating/13 share over 57 broadcasts this season.

In addition, KENS and CW35 combined for a 9.7 rating/16 share during the past regular season.

“The continuous strong ratings performance is a testament to our fans, our team and our broadcast partners, all of which have been phenomenal over the years,” said Mike Kickirillo, director of broadcasting for Spurs Sports and Entertainment. “We look forward to continuing our successful partnerships into the postseason."

San Antonio’s first round matchup of the 2012 NBA Playoffs will be televised by Fox Sports Southwest. Bill Land and Sean Elliott will provide the play-by-play and commentary.

Fans can enjoy extensive pre and postgame coverage on the network, including previews, highlights, player interviews, press conferences and analysis. Ric Renner and Andrew Monaco will serve as co-hosts for the 30 minute pre and postgame Spurs Live broadcasts, while Richard Oliver of the San Antonio Express News will provide analysis for home games.

San Antonio will play the eighth-seeded Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs. Dates and times have yet to be determined.
