The Miami HEAT is looking for the hippest, coolest, and young-at-heart senior citizens to be a part of its 2012-13 senior citizen hip-hop dance team, the HEAT Golden Oldies. The HEAT have announced that auditions for the HEAT Golden Oldies presented by Humana will be held at Southwest Focal Point Senior Center on Thursday, September 13th at 12:00pm. Registration for the audition will begin at 11:30am. All participants must be at least 60-years young by audition date.
The HEAT Golden Oldies are the NBA’s original and most popular senior citizen dance team. They aren’t your ordinary grandparents – these Oldies know how to boogie. These vivacious women and men are making a name for themselves by mastering the latest dance moves with funk and charisma.
In 2006, the Golden Oldies were honored by the NBA to perform at the 55th annual All-Star Game in Houston, TX. At the NBA’s premier event, they drew rave reviews from Academy Award-winning actor and platinum recording artist Jamie Foxx.
