Grizzlies assign Jarell Martin to Iowa Energy

Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced the team has assigned forward Jarell Martin to the Iowa Energy, the Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate.

Martin (6-10, 239) has appeared in 40 games (three starts) for the Grizzlies this season and averaged 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 13.5 minutes. The 22-year-old competed in 10 games (six starts) as a rookie last season for the Energy and recorded 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in 28.9 minutes.

A native of Baton Rouge, La., Martin was drafted by Memphis in the first round (25th overall) of the 2015 NBA Draft following his sophomore season at Louisiana State University.
