Chicago Bulls announce 2016-17 schedule

August 11, 2016 - The Chicago Bulls will tip off the 2016-17 campaign, and the 51st season in team history, on Oct. 27 at the United Center when they host the Boston Celtics in their season opener. The game will be nationally televised on TNT, with tipoff slated for 7 p.m. (CT).

Chicago will take to the road for the first time on Oct. 31, as the team travels to Brooklyn to take on the Nets at the Barclays Center, with a tip time scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (CT).

Other prominent home games on this season’s schedule include: the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 2 and March 30, the New York Knicks on Nov. 4, the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 8, the Miami Heat on Dec. 10 and Jan. 27, the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 13, the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 7 and Feb. 14, the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 9, a second tilt with the Celtics on Feb. 16, the Golden State Warriors on March 2 and the Los Angeles Clippers on March 4.

For the seventh straight season, Chicago will play on the League’s holiday stage with a Christmas Day matinee at San Antonio. The game, which will air at 4 p.m. (CT) on ABC, is one of five nationally-televised NBA games set for Christmas Day.

The Bulls are presently scheduled to appear on national television a total of 34 times. Chicago will play on ESPN 12 times, TNT nine times, NBA TV nine times and ABC four times. The team's local television schedule will be announced in the very near future.
