Deng and Rose on hand for Kids’ Holiday Party
December 6, 2010 – The Chicago Bulls and the Black McDonald’s® Operators Association (BMOA) partnered with the Chicago Housing Authority to host their eleventh annual Kids’ Holiday Party on Sunday at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Bulls’ players Luol Deng and Derrick Rose, as well as Bob Love, Sidney Green and Benny the Bull, lent a hand in the festivities which included holiday gifts for each child attending.
Beginning at 3 p.m., approximately 400 children from the CHA’s family housing developments throughout the city of Chicago arrived for a day sure to raise holiday spirits. The children were treated to lunch and tours of the museum exhibits including Science Storms and its projectile motion kiosks, which feature a video demonstration by Derrick Rose discussing the science behind shooting a basketball.
After the tour, 400 gifts purchased by Luol Deng were distributed to each child attending the event.
In its efforts to encourage children to feel uplifted during the holiday season, the Bulls partnered with BMOA, Coca-Cola, Vienna Beef, Hinckley Springs and Edy’s Grand Ice Cream to provide lunch for everyone.
