Bulls team up with Mercy Home for 23rd annual "Hoops to Homework" draft night
February 4, 2014 -- The Chicago Bulls and Mercy Home for Boys & Girls hosted the 23rd annual “Hoops to Homework” draft on Monday night at Mercy Home’s Noha Gymnasium, with more than 60 residents. At the event, Mercy Home residents participated in an NBA-style draft and were placed on teams for a series of fun, tournament-style games that will take place throughout February and March. Teams are named after current NBA teams.
“Hoops to Homework” is a weekend basketball league that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship and a healthy sense of competition. Residents are eligible to participate in the league by showing effort and making progress towards their academic and behavioral goals.
Following the draft, Chicago Bulls’ corporate partner, Vienna Beef, provided dinner for the students.
