Bulls, Blackhawks and Constellation Host Third Annual Go Green Event

The Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks teamed up with Constellation, the official energy provider for both organizations, to host the third annual community “Go Green” event on Tuesday at Union Park in the Near West Side neighborhood. The event took place during Girls in the Game’s last day of camp and featured rotating stations of basketball, street hockey and a health/leadership session for more than 250 campers.

Bulls ambassadors, Bob Love and Sidney Green, and Bulls/Sox Academy coaches led the girls through a basketball session with warm ups, shooting drills and one-on-one with Benny the Bull. Blackhawks ambassador Bobby Hull and Tommy Hawk were also in attendance to do hockey drills. Constellation staff took groups through a health/leadership workshop and planted flowers as part of the greening project.

Girls in the Game provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities, nutrition and health education, and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of young girls.

Through Constellation’s partnership with the Bulls and Blackhawks, the energy provider also sponsored both teams’ “Go Green” games held at the United Center in April.
