Michael Grady completed his first season in 2022-23 as the Timberwolves TV play-by-play announcer after spending the last five years on YES Network with the Brooklyn Nets and New York Yankees. Grady pairs up with television analyst Jim Petersen this season for all telecasts on the exclusive home of the Wolves, Bally Sports North. In addition to his play-by-play role, Grady represents the Timberwolves on many platforms, inclusive of team events, team content and more.

His television play-by-play experience includes calling games for NBATV and Turner Sports, the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty on YES Network, and the WNBA Commissioners Cup the last two years on Prime Video. Grady also calls WNBA and College Basketball games for CBS Sports in addition to serving as sideline reporter for select NFL games.

Grady began his broadcasting career in his home state of Indiana in 2003, when he joined 1070 WIBC Radio in Indianapolis as a producer before moving to 107.5 ESPN Radio as Executive producer in 2007. During his time in Indy, Grady served as midday radio host on The Fan, Public Address Announcer for the Indiana Pacers, and sports anchor on ABC affiliate WRTV6, where he won his first Emmy for coverage of the 2016 Indianapolis 500.

Grady currently resides in Minneapolis.

Jim Petersen returns for his 26th season on the Wolves’ broadcast team. Partnered with Michael Grady, Petersen brings the experience of an eight-year NBA playing career to his analysis.

A St. Louis Park native, Petersen was named Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball in 1980 and was the first McDonald’s All-American from Minnesota. He went on to be a four-year letter winner at the University of Minnesota and was a member of the Gophers’ 1982 Big Ten Championship team.

Petersen was selected 51st overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1984 NBA draft. He played forward and center for the Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors before retiring in 1992.

After leaving the NBA, Petersen worked for the NBA Players Association in their player programs division, facilitating seminars in NBA locker rooms on topics such as AIDS awareness, substance abuse and career/financial planning for life after basketball. In 2009, Petersen also joined the coaching staff of the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx as an assistant coach and was named associate head coach prior to the 2016 season before stepping down prior to the 2017 season. During his tenure with the Lynx, the squad won three WNBA titles: 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Petersen currently resides in Wayzata along with his wife Tika. Their son, Sanjay, was a four-year starter and two-time captain for Chris Collins at Northwestern University, including being a part of the Wildcats’ first NCAA appearance in school history in 2017. He currently is an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks.

Katie Storm returns for her third season as the Wolves’ TV sideline reporter.

She is a sports enthusiast passionate about people & storytelling. Her love of sports started at a young age, growing up as the only girl in the middle of 6 boys in Delano, MN. She was a three-sport athlete at Delano High School and made the University of Hawaii at Hilo Women’s Basketball team as a freshman walk-on. While warmer weather and a campus near the beach was nice, there wasn’t a program that supported Sports Broadcasting, so she decided to trade her jersey and sneakers for a microphone at St. Cloud State University.

SCSU is where Storm would find that she loved talking about sports just as much as she loved playing. During the college hockey season, she worked as a Rink-Side Reporter and In-Studio Host for the live-game broadcasts produced by Husky Productions.

In 2018, Storm was honored with the 2018 Jim Nantz Award as the top collegiate sports broadcaster in the country and the first woman in history to receive the Award. She started her career as a Reporter for FOX Sports North and covered Gopher Hockey, the Twins, the Timberwolves, the Lynx, the Minnesota Wild and other special sporting events like Hockey Day in Minnesota.

In August of 2019, she moved to the east coast and served as the Pre and Postgame Host of the Philadelphia Flyers on NBC Sports Philadelphia for the 2019-20 regular season and two rounds of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In the spring of 2021, returned to her home state of Minnesota and her Bally Sports North family. She is a Reporter and Host for the network, covering the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves. Storm lives in Minnetonka, MN with her husband Ben.

Alan Horton enters his 17th season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He will call every Wolves game this season on the team’s flagship station, WCCO-AM 830, and across the Midwest on the 30-station Timberwolves Radio Network. Horton was also the voice of the Minnesota Lynx for seven years, including their 2011 and 2013 WNBA Championships.

A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Horton came to the Twin Cities after spending the 2006-07 season with the Seattle SuperSonics and Storm.

He spent the previous ten years in Southern California as a sports broadcaster on both radio and television. His play-by-play experience included the San Diego Padres; San Diego State University football, baseball, and basketball; as well as high school football, basketball, volleyball, and water polo.

Horton was also the executive producer of the San Diego Chargers Radio Network for six seasons, and he was a national talk show host on the Fox Sports Radio Network in Los Angeles.

A native of Clarksburg, Massachusetts, Horton lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Amy, and their two children.

Cal Soderquist is entering his fifth season as Executive Producer & Studio Host for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He joined the Timberwolves & Lynx Radio Network before the 2010-11 season, and served as a studio host for all pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage.

Before joining the Wolves & Lynx, Soderquist served as the broadcast play-by-play voice for the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, calling men’s & women’s basketball, as well as football & volleyball.

A native of Minnesota, Soderquist’s radio experience includes a producer role with the Minnesota Twins, plus broadcasting other collegiate sports, as well as various high school tournaments. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2012 and resides in Minneapolis with his wife Joann.
