Matchup History

In 2005, Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson recorded his career high against the Orlando Magic when he dropped 50 points during a February game at The Center. It was six years prior, though, in a first round matchup in the 1999 NBA playoffs, that the Iverson-led Sixers started to make their mark on the league, winning a first-round playoff series against Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway’s team 3 games to 1. Two years later, AI would take his squad to their first Eastern Conference title since 1983.

Since the Orlando Magic joined the NBA via expansion in 1989, this matchup has featured several other stars, including Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard, who also suited up for the Sixers in his career. These two teams squared off four times in the 2022-23 NBA regular season, with the 76ers recording three Ws! 2023 NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero and the Magic will be back in South Philly next season, and fans can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster!
