WIZARDS WELCOME FANS BACK BY PAYING TICKET CONVENIENCE FEES

Individual Tickets on Sale December 14

WASHINGTON, DC – In a continued effort to show their appreciation for their loyal fans and as a tip-off to the 2011-12 season, the Washington Wizards will pay all convenience fees for individual tickets purchased from Wednesday, December 14, at 10 a.m. through Wednesday, December 21, at 11:59 p.m. Single-game tickets for the 2011-12 season start at $10 per game and are slated to go on sale Wednesday, December 14, at 10 a.m.

“We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward to a great year for all of our fans,” said Jim Van Stone, Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales and Services. “As a thank you for all their support and patience throughout the recent off-season, we would like to extend a special token of our appreciation by paying for all convenience fees for the first week of sale for individual game tickets. We can’t wait to see all of our fans return when the season gets underway on December 26.”

The Wizards open the new campaign at Verizon Center on Monday, December 26, at 7:00 p.m. against the New Jersey Nets. For more information, call 202-397-SEAT or visit www.washingtonwizards.com and the Verizon Center box office.

The Wizards will also introduce dynamic pricing this season, a system that allows consumer demand to set the price that reflects the most accurate current market value. Similar to the travel and entertainment industries, fans who purchase their tickets early are more likely to get the best value. With dynamic pricing, the price of single-game tickets may fluctuate based on a variety of factors, including league standings, opposing team, rivalries, star players, day of the week and supply and demand. For example, games against the top teams in the league are anticipated to be in high demand, whereas it’s possible that early-season and week-day games experience a decrease in price. The system is designed to reward single-game buyers for purchasing earlier in the season
