New Red, White and Blue Wizards Merchandise on Sale Tuesday

The Washington Wizards announced today that new merchandise featuring the team’s red, white and blue colors and logos will go on sale at the Verizon Center team store as well as online at www.washingtonwizards.com tomorrow beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Fans who donate gently worn Wizards jerseys and apparel at the Verizon Center team store between May 10 and May 13 will receive a 10% discount on new red, white and blue merchandise. All collected items will be donated to the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Program, where they will be distributed to those in need. In addition, the Wizards are donating all outdated and unused team gear to Basketball Without Borders.

“We are excited to introduce a portion of our latest merchandise line in conjunction with the unveiling of the team’s new look,” said Wizards Executive Vice President of Business Operations Greg Bibb. “We are also pleased to offer a limited time discount on new Wizards gear as a thank you to our fans and as a way to collect much-needed apparel for donation to a very worthy cause.”

The team store will be open from 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. tomorrow and from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. May 11-13.

The Wizards will officially unveil the team’s updated brand featuring a red, white and blue color scheme during an exclusive event at Verizon Center on May 10 at 11:00 a.m. The event will be highlighted by the introduction of the team’s new uniforms and marks and will be attended by Majority Owner and Chariman & CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment Ted Leonsis, Bibb, Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld, Head Coach Flip Saunders, John Wall, Jordan Crawford, Elvin Hayes, Bob Dandridge and other notable Bullets/Wizards alumni. It will be open to media and invited guests only, but will be streamed live on www.washingtonwizards.com and broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet.
