Comcast SportsNet to Televise John Wall's Wizards Debut with Five-Game Schedule of NBA Summer League Action

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, the region’s leading source for television and online sports coverage, has announced it will televise all five Washington Wizards games of the 2010 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The live high-definition game coverage will be highlighted by John Wall’s first appearance with the Wizards since being selected by the team first overall in the 2010 NBA draft on June 24. The network will also provide comprehensive news and special feature programming surrounding the Wizards seven-day summer season.

Comcast SportsNet’s five-game television schedule for the Wizards NBA Summer League season begins when the Wizards play the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, July 11, at 8 p.m. and finishes with their final game on Saturday, July 17, at 4 p.m. against the New York Knicks. Comcast SportsNet’s Steve Buckhantz will provide play-by-play for the first four broadcasts, with Phil Chenier serving as analyst for all games. Wizards radio announcer Dave Johnson is scheduled to handle play-by-play duties for the Wizards final game on July 17.

Comcast SportsNet will also deliver exclusive “Wall-to-Wall” coverage of the summer league with special Wizards-related news and feature programming throughout the week. A special-edition half-hour SportsNite: Wall to Wall Wizards show will debut prior to the team’s first game on Sunday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. and re-air on July 17. Washington Post Live: Wall to Wall Wizards, hosted by Ivan Carter, will air live leading into the games on Thursday, July 15, and Friday, July 16, from 7-8 p.m. and will feature the region’s top basketball analysts and insiders.

Comcast SportsNet Wizards television beat reporter Chris Miller will be reporting from Las Vegas throughout the week-long event for the network’s special programs and daily news and entertainment shows, Washington Post Live and SportsNite. Miller, who has been covering Wall since the Wizards claimed the top choice in the NBA draft lottery in May, will also contribute video content to CSNwashington.com as part of the website’s coverage of the summer league games.

The 2010 NBA Summer League will take place at Cox Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, with 22 NBA teams participating in a 58-game schedule from July 9-18.
