Beal Named to NBA All-Rookie First Team

WASHINGTON, DC – The NBA announced today that Wizards guard Bradley Beal has been named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Beal appeared in 56 games as a rookie, including 46 starts, and averaged 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 31.2 minutes per contest. He shot .410 from the field and .386 from behind the arc while finishing third among rookies in scoring, second in minutes per game and fourth in three-point field goal percentage. He is the 15th rookie in franchise history to receive NBA All-Rookie First Team honors.

The former University of Florida standout finished third in Kia NBA Rookie of the Year voting and set the Wizards franchise rookie record with 91 three-pointers made, eclipsing Steve Blake’s previous mark of 75. He was named Kia NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month in December 2012 and January 2013 and represented the Wizards in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend in Houston (February ’12), where he scored 12 points and tallied four assists.

Beal is joined on the First Team All-Rookie squad by Damian Lillard (Portland), Anthony Davis (New Orleans), Dion Waiters (Cleveland) and Harrison Barnes (Golden State).
