D'Antoni Named Coach of the Year It's been a good week for Mike D'Antoni. The Phoenix Suns head coach celebrated his 54th birthday on Sunday, the same day his playmaker Steve Nash was named league MVP. D'Antoni then enjoyed a blowout victory over the Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Monday night, and accepted the 2004-05 NBA Coach-of-the-Year award during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon at America West Arena.
