The decision to broadcast these games comes in the wake of Raptors NBA TV’s first Canadian exclusive coverage of the Denver Nuggets versus the Toronto Raptors game December 7, 2001. The success of that game has prompted Raptors NBA TV to add as many live Raptor and NBA games as possible.

Raptors NBA TV launched in September 2001 and is nationally available through Star Choice, Rogers, Cogeco and Bell ExpressVu. It is also currently available on a trial basis through Look TV. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. owns Raptors NBA TV and Leafs TV as well as the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs and Air Canada Centre.
