T-Pain to Perform at Halftime on Wednesday, Jan. 25 When Detroit Pistons Host Miami Heat

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons announced today that Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, rapper and producer T-Pain will perform during halftime when the Detroit Pistons host LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami HEAT on Wednesday, January 25 at The Palace of Auburn Hills (7:30 p.m.).

“We are continually looking for ways to enhance our in-game entertainment and excited to have T-Pain performing on Wednesday when the Pistons host the Miami HEAT,” said Harlan Hendrickson, Vice President of Lifestyle Marketing for Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Pistons.

T-Pain has recently been making the rounds on national television shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live! in support of his recently released fourth studio album rEVOLVEr. The follow-up to his 2008 platinum-plus selling album Thr33 Ringz, rEVOLVEr, demonstrates the evolution of T-Pain as an artist, and has already spawned two platinum selling singles, “5 O’Clock,” featuring Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen and “Best Love Song” featuring Chris Brown.

Now gearing up for a co-headlining tour with Gym Class Heroes in February, the Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter/producer will kick off his string of live performances when he takes the stage for the Detroit Pistons/Miami HEAT halftime show. T-Pain will perform a medley of some of his internationally known smash hits.

In 2008, T-Pain took home his first Grammy for Best Rap Song for “Good Life” with Kanye West, which also garnered a BET Award, where he was the most nominated artist of the night. Since the release of his debut album, T-Pain has produced and featured on over 45 top ten songs and 16 #1's. He has won many awards including two Grammys and continues to expand his brand with fresh and exciting ideas like the innovative I Am T-Pain mobile app, which has now spawned the I Am T-Pain Mic and T-Pain Effect.
