Pelicans Recall Cheick Diallo from Long Island Nets

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has recalled rookie forward Cheick Diallo from the Long Island Nets of the NBA Development League, pursuant to the flexible assignment system.

In his third D-League assignment this season after having been twice assigned to the Austin Spurs, Diallo appeared in two games with Long Island, averaging 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 block in 17.4 minutes per contest.

Diallo, 6-9, 220, has averaged 12.0 points on .532 shooting from the floor, 5.7 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 22.2 minutes in 11 games with Long Island and Austin.

Diallo was originally selected by the L.A. Clippers with the 33rd overall pick out of the University of Kansas in the 2016 NBA Draft. Diallo has appeared in seven regular season games for New Orleans, averaging 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per contest.
