HORNETS RELEASE PARTIAL TICKET PLANS FOR 2010-2011 SEASON

August 17, 2010

The New Orleans Hornets released five partial plans for the 2010-2011 season today, giving fans the first opportunity to purchase ticket packages other than full season tickets. Partial plans include two-half season and three 12-game plans, including the very popular Weekend Plan. By placing a $100 per seat initial payment per seat, fans will also have access to attend the exclusive partial plan select-a-seat event on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the New Orleans Arena where they can select their actual seats for games.

Along with the introduction of this season’s lineup of partial plans, the Hornets also announce two great promotional offers surrounding these plans. Fans who purchase a half season plan will additionally receive the Hornets vs. Milwaukee Bucks Opening Night game on Wednesday, Oct. 27 for free. Fans who purchase any one of the three 12-game plans and add the highly anticipated Hornets vs. Miami Heat regular season game on Friday, Nov. 5 to their plan, will also receive one free Opening Night ticket per plan purchased.

"While purchasing full season tickets is the best way to secure the best available seats, our partial plans offer flexibility and convenience for our fans to still enjoy great benefits and experience the excitement at the arena," said Hornets Sr. Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service Bill Bailey. "We’re also excited to offer fans the opportunity to attend our Opening Night match-up and be a part of the first regular season home game."

The Hornets are also introducing variable pricing for the 2010-2011 season which will better reflect each individual game’s actual value. Prices will be assigned to individual games based on the value and expected demand for that game according to factors such as the opponent and day of the week. Each game will fall into one of five categories: Marquee, Premium, Classic, Value and Preseason.

"Variable pricing is a concept used by numerous other professional sports franchises, and is based on the notion that not all games are created equal," said Hornets President Hugh Weber. "It allows us to more accurately reflect the real value of each game. It’s very important for our Season Ticket Holders to understand that the total price for each individual season ticket package will remain the same and will not increase because of variable pricing. As always, being a Hornets full Season Ticket Holder guarantees the best price for the best locations on any game date, and we remain committed to providing one of the best values in the NBA."
