Hornets' Opening Night Presented by Chevron Tips Off Regular Season at the Hive

The Hornets will take on the Boston Celtics during their regular season home opener on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. at the New Orleans Arena for Opening Night Presented by Chevron. Tickets for the game are available at Hornets.com or all TicketMaster outlets.

Buzz Fest pre-game block party tips off early at 5 p.m. and will feature live music by Brass-A-Holics, $1 beer, the Miller Lite STH Beer Garden and interactive fun for the entire family. Fans are also encouraged to be in their seats early for a special opening version of player introductions.

“The entire Hornets organization is excited that basketball is back. Our home opener against Boston is going to be a great way to kick off the regular season,” said Hornets President Hugh Weber. “We have the No. 1-rated game entertainment in the league, and our fans will not be disappointed with the exciting elements we have planned for Opening Night Presented by Chevron.”

Every fan in attendance will receive a commemorative blue Hornets t-shirt courtesy of Chevron and hundreds of items will be given away to lucky Hornets fans.

The National Anthem will be performed by New Orleans’ own Grammy Award-Winning Trumpeter Irvin Mayfield. The game will also include special player intros and a halftime performance being produced and performed by Mayfield and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra featuring local New Orleans artists.
