Anthony Davis won't play tonight vs. Spurs (3/29/14)

SAN ANTONIO – New Orleans Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis will miss Saturday’s game against San Antonio with a left ankle injury. He’s being listed as day-to-day by the team. The Pelicans’ next game after tonight is a home tilt against the Sacramento Kings.

“It’s a soft-tissue injury,” Pelicans Coach Monty Williams said. “We’ll see how he feels tomorrow and take it from there.”

Davis left Friday’s game vs. Utah just 3:43 into the first quarter due to the injury. Williams said he will wait to find out what more on the Spurs’ lineup before announcing his starters, but it’s likely that Alexis Ajinca will draw the assignment in place of Davis.

In other injury news, Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon will miss his fifth straight game with left knee tendinitis. Point guard Brian Roberts will try to play after missing the past two games vs. Utah and the Clippers. However, Williams said if Roberts plays he will be kept to limited minutes.
