BOJAN BOGDANOVIC NAMED EASTERN CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Brooklyn, NY – The National Basketball Association announced today that Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Bojan Bogdanovic has been named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in April.

In nine games in April, Bogdanovic averaged 14.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 28.4 minutes per game while shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 48.8 percent from three-point range. He led all Eastern Conference rookies in scoring for the month, while leading qualifying Eastern Conference rookies in field goal percentage. Bogdanovic also led all rookies in three-pointers made in the month of April as he hit on 20 of 41 attempts from long range. He scored in double figures off the bench in six of the Nets’ nine games throughout the month, leading Brooklyn in scoring three times.

Bogdanovic scored a career-high and game-high 28 points (12-of-17 shooting) in the Nets’ regular season finale against Orlando on April 15, becoming the first Nets’ rookie to score that many points off the bench since at least 1985-86.  On April 10 vs. Washington, Bogdanovic totaled 22 points while making a career-high six three-pointers on six attempts, matching the Nets’ single game rookie record for three-pointers made in a game, previously set by Kerry Kittles in 1997.

This marks the 12th time in franchise history that a Nets’ player has been named NBA Rookie of the Month, and Bogdanovic becomes the eighth different Nets’ player to earn the honor. He is also the first Nets’ player to be named Rookie of the Month in five years, since Terrence Williams was awarded the distinction in April 2010.
