#8 Acquiring Rafer Alston from the Rockets (February, 2009)
The Magic were desperate for a point guard following Jameer Nelson’s inopportune shoulder injury in 2009. While there were some uncertainties about Alston when he first arrived in Orlando, he quickly proved he was the perfect addition for a team with championship aspirations. Alston helped steer the Magic to the NBA Finals.
