Jazz to Host Two Summer League Youth Clinics

SALT LAKE CITY (June 30, 2016) – The Utah Jazz will host two basketball clinics July 6 and 7 as part of the team’s 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League activities. The clinics will be held at different locations in Salt Lake County, using the outdoor community basketball courts built in collaboration between the Utah Jazz, Larry H. Miller Charities and the host city.

The July 6 clinic will feature former Utah Jazz forward Tom Chambers, Junior Jazz staff and 50 youth. The attendees will learn fundamental basketball drills, including shooting, passing and dribbling.

Chambers played two seasons for the Utah Jazz from 1993-95. He played in the 1,000th game of his career during the 1993-94 season and became the 20th player in NBA history to score 20,000 points the following season. The Ogden, Utah, native played 16 years in the NBA, as well as one season internationally after a collegiate career at the University of Utah.

In addition to the two clinics, the Jazz will donate 200 Summer League tickets to local non-profit groups to attend the July 5 game.

The 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League, presented by America First Credit Union, Siegfried & Jensen and Zero Fatalities in association with the Utah Sports Commission will begin play on Monday, July 4 with the Philadelphia 76ers, who selected Ben Simmons with the first pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, playing the Boston Celtics. The Utah Jazz will face the San Antonio Spurs in the second game of the doubleheader. A complete schedule of games can be found online at utahjazz.com
