2016 Utah Jazz Summer League Begins July 4

SALT LAKE CITY (July 1, 2016) – The 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League, presented by America First Credit Union, Siegfried & Jensen and Zero Fatalities in association with the Utah Sports Commission will begin play on Monday, July 4. The nightly doubleheaders will feature the Jazz, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs.

Seven first-round picks from this year's NBA Draft are expected to compete during the three-day event, as well as Utah’s three second-round picks Joel Bolomboy, Marcus Paige and Tyrone Wallace. Current first-year NBA players including Utah's Trey Lyles and Tibor Pleiss, along with Boston's Terry Rozier, R.J. Hunter and Jordan Mickey are scheduled to play.

Below is an overview of the nightly schedule, giveaways and FanFest activities for the 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League:

Monday, July 4 (Vivint Smart Home Arena)

Pregame: Free FanFest on Vivint Smart Home Arena plaza, 3:30 p.m.

Giveaway: 2,000 sling bags, courtesy of America First Credit Union and Siegfried & Jensen

Game 1: Boston vs. Philadelphia, 5 p.m.

Game 2: San Antonio vs. Utah, 7 p.m.

 

Tuesday, July 5 (Vivint Smart Home Arena)

Pregame: Free FanFest on Vivint Smart Home Arena plaza, 1:30 p.m.

Giveaway: 3,000 mini water bottles, courtesy of America First Credit Union and Siegfried & Jensen

Game 1: Philadelphia vs. San Antonio, 3 p.m.

Game 2: Boston vs. Utah, 5 p.m.

 

Wednesday, July 6

No games or FanFest scheduled

 

Thursday, July 7 (University of Utah’s Jon M. Huntsman Center)

Pregame: Free FanFest at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on the campus of the University of Utah, 3:30 p.m.

Game 1: Boston vs. San Antonio, 5 p.m.

Game 2: Philadelphia vs. Utah, 7 p.m.

 

Lower bowl tickets are available for as low as $8 for a one-day pass or $15 for a three-day pass. A one-day pass provides access to both games played on that day. Tickets can be purchased at Vivint Smart Home Arena box office, online at utahjazzsummerleague.com or by phone at (801) 355-SEAT.

The free FanFest will start 90 minutes before the daily doubleheaders and will include a variety of family-friendly and interactive games and live entertainment for fans to enjoy.

UtahJazzSummerLeague.com will be the online home for comprehensive coverage of all Summer League activities, including schedules, ticket information, game previews, live stats, photo galleries, results, game recaps and video interviews. The hashtag #UtahJazzSL will be used to categorize Utah Jazz Summer League tweets.

All Jazz games will be broadcast live on KJZZ 14 Television with Craig Bolerjack and Ron Boone as commentators. Kristen Kenney will make her debut as the new Jazz sideline reporter. KJZZ airs on channel 14 for DirecTV subscribers and on Comcast channels 3 (SD) and 657 (HD).

The radio voice of the Jazz, David Locke, will call the action on The Zone Sports Network (1280 AM/97.5 FM) for the first two Jazz games with Tony Parks reporting from courtside. On July 7, The Zone’s radio personalities will take over the play-by-play, with each show calling a quarter of action in a competition to determine the station’s best program team. The Zone will also be live with “The Big Show” featuring Spencer Checketts and Gordon Monson from Vivint Smart Home Arena’s plaza on game days.

The games will also be broadcast live on NBA TV, as well as streamed via ESPN 3.
