Bobcats and FOX Sports Carolinas release 2009-10 TV schedule

The Charlotte Bobcats and FOX Sports Carolinas, in its second year as the Bobcats regional television partner, today announced their 2009-10 television schedule.

FOX Sports Carolinas and its sister network SportSouth will televise a combined 70 regular-season games, 39 on FOX Sports Carolinas and 31 on SportSouth. Bobcats games to be televised in HD will be released at a later date.

Regular-season coverage on FOX Sports Carolinas begins on opening night when the Bobcats visit the Boston Celtics at 7 p.m. ET. Overall, 39 road games and 31 home games will be televised throughout the season. FOX Sports Carolinas and SportSouth will televise 30 of the final 31 games of the season, as well as 14 of the final 15 road games.

Key matchups include 14 games against Southeast Division rivals (Orlando, Atlanta, Miami and Washington) and two games against the 2008-09 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers. FOX Sports Carolinas and SportSouth’s coverage also highlights inter-conference games, including 23 of the Bobcats’ games against Western Conference opponents. The networks will also televise two preseason contests: October 8 against the New Orleans Hornets in Greensboro, NC at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Carolinas and October 10 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Charleston, SC at 7:30 p.m. ET on SportSouth.

Former Charlotte Hornets standout Dell Curry joins the FOX Sports Carolinas and SportSouth broadcast team as an analyst. Curry, a 16-year NBA veteran, had spent the last two seasons as the Bobcats Director of Player Development and saw some duty as a color analyst on the team’s radio broadcasts.. Curry joins long-time play-by-play announcer Steve Martin and courtside reporter Stephanie Ready in the broadcast booth. In addition to game telecasts, Martin and Curry will co-host Bobcats LIVE pre- and post-game coverage.
