Bobcats Sign Matt Rogers

Charlotte Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins announced today that the team has signed forward/center Matt Rogers. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Rogers played the last four seasons at Southwest Baptist University in Missouri, where was named Second Team Division II All-America in 2008-09 and Third Team All-America in 2009-10. The 2008-09 MVP of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, Rogers earned First Team All-MIAA honors in each of the last three seasons. Rogers was also on the MIAA All-Defensive Team in all four seasons, ranking in the top four nationally in blocked shots in each of the last three years.

The Bobcats open training camp today, September 28, at Trask Coliseum on the campus of UNC-Wilmington. The updated training camp roster is as follows:

The Charlotte Bobcats, who became the NBA’s 30th team when they joined the league in 2004-05, finished the 2009-10 season with a franchise-best 44-38 overall record (31-10 at home) and first-ever playoff appearance. They open the 2010-11 regular season on Oct. 27 at Dallas.
