THE RESULT
The Bobcats entered their final game of the 2011-12 season hoping to end on a winning note and were playing the Knicks (36-30) tight at halftime, only trailing New York 46-44 at the break. Unfortunately, the Bobcats (7-59) could not keep up as the Knicks pulled away in the second half for the 104-84 on April 26 at Time Warner Cable Arena® and handed Charlotte its 23-straight loss to close the season.

TURNING POINTS
Two Gerald Henderson free throws closed the gap to 64-59 with 2:47 left in the third quarter and Charlotte appeared to be grabbing the momentum in the game… That changed when Amare Stoudemire threw down a vicious dunk moments later and converted the and-one to push the lead to eight and start an 18-6 run that gave the Knicks an 82-65 lead… The Knicks were able to keep the Bobcats at bay the rest of the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Knicks had a great night from the field, hitting 51.8 percent (44 of 85), while the Bobcats were only able to connect on 43.2 percent (32 of 74)… It was a close battle on the glass that saw the Knicks outrebound the Bobcats, 39-36… The Bobcats were able to block nine shots, five of which came from rookie Bismack Biyombo… The Knicks outscored the Bobcats 50-30 in the paint.

BOBCATS PLAYERS OF THE GAME
Gerald Henderson had a solid floor game, scoring 21 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists.

BOBCATS TOP RESERVE
DJ White came off the bench to give the Bobcats 11 points and seven rebounds.

KNICKS PLAYER OF THE GAME
J.R. Smith had a big night for the Knicks, finishing with 22 points, six assists and three rebounds in a reserve role..

GAME NOTES
Kemba Walker (13) and D.J. Augustin (12), were both able to reach double-figure scoring for the Bobcats… Jamario Moon had his best game as a member of the Bobcats, finishing with eight rebounds and four points… The Bobcats .106 winning percentage on the season goes down as the worst in NBA history. The 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers held the previous mark of .110 with a 9-73 overall record.
