Hornets Recall Aaron Harrison and Christian Wood from Greensboro - 12/31/16

December 31, 2016 – Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has recalled guard Aaron Harrison and forward Christian Wood from the Greensboro Swarm, the team’s NBA Development League affiliate.

In his three stints with the Swarm, Harrison (6-6, 212, Kentucky) has appeared in 13 games (all starts) recording averages of 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 36.5 minutes per game. He tallied 21 points, eight rebounds and two assists in his last contest with the Swarm vs. Grand Rapids on Dec. 30. He is the team’s leader in both points and steals. Harrison is in his second year with the Hornets and has appeared in four regular-season games this season, tallying his first point and assist of the year at Memphis on Nov. 28.  

Wood (6-11, 220, University of Nevada-Las Vegas), is in his first year with the Hornets, signing as a free agent on July 14, 2016 after spending his rookie year with the Philadelphia 76ers.This marks Wood’s second D-League stint of the year, appearing in 11 games (10 starts) during his time with Greensboro, averaging 17.2 points, 9.3 boards and 2.1 blocks in 29.3 minutes per contest. The second-year pro paces the team in rebounds and blocks. Wood totaled eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks in his last contest with the Swarm on Dec. 30, vs. Grand Rapids. He has appeared in one regular season game for the Hornets this season grabbing two rebounds in three minutes of play.

Since the inception of the Swarm, the team has now totaled five player assignments to their D-League affiliate.
