Hornets Center Nick Richards And Assistant Coach Marlon Garnett To Participate In Basketball Without Borders

13th Basketball Without Borders Americas Camp To Be Held May 17-20 in São Paulo

May 15, 2024 – The NBA and FIBA announced today Hornets center Nick Richards and Hornets assistant coach Marlon Garnett will be part of a group that will coach at the 13th edition of Basketball Without Borders Americas from May 17-20 in São Paulo, Brazil. The camp consists of 60 of the top high-school-age prospects from 17 countries and territories across Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Richards, a native of Jamaica, and Garnett, a former member of the Belize national team, will lead campers through a variety of activities, including offense and defensive skill stations, 5-on-5 games and life skills and leadership development sessions.

Basketball Without Borders, the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development and community outreach program, has reached more than 4,300 participants from 140 countries and territories since 2001, with 116 former campers advancing to the NBA or WNBA. There have been 73 Basketball Without Borders camps in 49 cities across 33 countries on six continents.
