July 13, 2014 – Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has traded guard Scotty Hopson to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for cash considerations. The Hornets acquired Hopson yesterday, along with cash considerations, from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for center Brendan Haywood and the draft rights to forward Dwight Powell, the 45th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
