A tightly-contested affair late in the first half quickly turned into a rout by the end of the third quarter as the Hornets cruised to a dominating 113-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, April 8, in Charlotte. Kemba Walker led six Hornets players in double figures with a team-high 22 points as Charlotte moved its record to 46-33, matching its highest single-season win total since the 2000-01 NBA campaign. Wayne Ellington knocked down a team-high 21 points for Brooklyn, which lost its seventh-consecutive game.

Turning Points
Trailing 41-39 with 3:30 remaining before halftime, the Hornets rolled off a 34-14 run that stretched midway through the third quarter, giving them a commanding 73-55 lead over the visiting Nets. Charlotte ended up connecting on 12-of-24 field-goal attempts (50.0 percent) while forcing five Brooklyn turnovers in the frame to increase its lead to 84-64 by the start of the fourth. From that point, the Nets were never able to get back in it as the Hornets managed to empty their bench with about six minutes remaining in the game to finish off their fourth-straight win over Brooklyn.
