Hornets Assign Jeffery Taylor To Austin Spurs of NBA D-League

December 28, 2014 – Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has assigned forward Jeffery Taylor to the Austin Spurs of the NBA D-League, pursuant to the flexible assignment rule.  The flexible assignment rule was used because the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Hornets’ D-League affiliate, had two NBA “wing” players on assignment at the time the Hornets initiated Taylor’s assignment to the D-League.

“As with Noah’s situation, we think that Jeffery will benefit greatly by getting additional game action,” Cho said.  “Our depth at the wing position has limited his minutes and this D-League assignment will allow him to get some valuable playing time.”

Taylor, a 6-7 forward in his third season in Charlotte, has seen action in three games for the Hornets this season, averaging 1.0 point and 1.3 rebounds in 6.0 minutes.  He missed the season’s first 24 contests due to an NBA suspension.

Hornets Sports & Entertainment owns the Charlotte Hornets and operates Charlotte’s Time Warner Cable Arena.
