EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, MIAMI HEAT CHARITABLE FUND


Steve Stowe begins his ninth full season with the Miami HEAT and his third within Basketball Operations. As Executive Director of the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund, Stowe oversees the fundraising arm of the team, while working alongside the players to support their philanthropic endeavors, including the Corporate Education Community Outreach Ticket Program and President Pat Riley’s military appreciation initiative, Home Strong.

Stowe organizes the annual Miami HEAT Family Festival and private concert & dinner events that benefit the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund as well as other various special events. As a result of these efforts, over $12 million has been raised for local non-profit beneficiaries since the inception of the Foundation.

Prior to taking on the role of Executive Director, he served as the HEAT’s Director of Community Affairs, where he and his staff focused on social responsibility issues and the league's internationally-recognized youth-serving projects that support education, at-risk youth, family development, and health-related causes.

Stowe serves as a Board Member for the American Red Cross Greater Miami and The Keys, Dade Schools Athletic Foundation, the Miami Beach Police Athletic League, the Jackson Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees, and Voices for Children Foundation. He has also worked on the Zo’s Summer Groove Event Steering Committee and has participated with the Univision/Premios Juventud Scholarship Selection Panel.

A native of Miami Beach, FL, Stowe holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration, with a minor in economics from the University of Florida. He completed a master’s degree in sports management and a master’s degree in business administration from Barry University and has been selected as the recipient of Barry University’s 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award. Stowe and his wife, Johanna, reside in Miami Beach.
