The Atlanta Hawks opened preseason play Wednesday night, which also meant the debut of the Club's new Georgia Granite Gray uniforms.

The NBA and Stance have teamed up to provide the official on-court sock of the NBA.  Stance will design socks for all 30 teams to match uniforms, and they unveiled the designs for six teams, including the Hawks, on Wednesday.

What does this mean?  Well, it means Hawks players will now be able to match their newly re-designed uniforms with these new socks, adding to what is already the most bold uniforms in the league.

The socks will be available at the Hawks Shop and on HawksShop.com in October.

Results from a recent poll published on NBA.com show that fans think the Atlanta Hawks' new uniforms are among the best in the league.

Six teams -- The Hawks, 76ers, Bucks, Clippers, Hornets and Raptors -- unveiled new uniforms this offseason.  The poll, which was posted Aug. 4 and is closing in on 20,000 votes, asks fans to choose which new NBA uniforms they like best.  Atlanta had more than 5,500 votes as of Monday afternoon, trailing only Toronto.  The Raptors had roughly 29% of the total vote, followed closely by the Hawks at 28%.

The one caveat is that the article was published in response to the Raptors' uniform unveil, which was the most recent of the six.  The poll serves as a footnote of the "All Ball Blog" post on Toronto's uniforms, so one would expect the Raptors to have a significant number of votes.

The poll results are the latest indication that Hawks and NBA fans alike are buying into the team's bold "next generation," which features new Volt Green and Georgia Granite Gray colors alonside Torch Red.  Besides being the overwhelming favorite in a June 24 NBA.com poll, the uniforms drew strong reviews from SB Nation and Soaring Down South and also generated thousands of comments on social media.

This weekend is the annual NBA Rookie Transition Program, where rookies from all teams gather together to learn about life in the NBA.

The session includes a photo shoot of each rookie in uniform, and here's a good shot of Hawks 7'3" center Edy Tavares modeling the new Georgia Granite Gray threads:

On Wednesday 2K Sports revealed its NBA 2K16 cover for Germany, which features Hawks point guard and German native Dennis Schröder.

On Thursday, it appears an image of Schröder wearing the new Hawks home jersey has been revealed.

The international gaming website "Game Reactor" posted an article about Schröder's appearance on the German cover and also included a screenshot of him sporting the new home white jersey in the game.  The article includes quotes from Schröder as well as the 2K Marketing Manager in Germany.

2K's competitor, EA Sports, recently revealed what the Hawks' new road grays will look like in NBA Live 16.
