Kyle Korver Named to Initial USA Basketball 2014-16 Men's National Team Roster

ATLANTA (Jan. 23, 2014) -- Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver was one of 28 players today selected for the 2014-16 USA Men’s National Team pool, from which the 2014 USA World Championship Team and, if the U.S. qualifies, the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team will be selected.

"It’s an honor to have the opportunity to represent my country,” Korver said. “I'm excited to be a part of the national team program and will be ready to compete this summer."

Korver, in his second season with Atlanta, becomes the fourth Hawks player selected to represent USA Basketball, joining Joe Johnson (2006 World Championships and 2006-08 Senior National Team Program), Steve Smith (1999 FIBA-Americas team) and Jason Terry (2001 Goodwill Games).

He is averaging 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 35.0 minutes per game this season, appearing in 36 games (all starts) and hitting .476 FGs, .457 3FGs and .919 FTs. Korver ranks third in the NBA in three-point percentage, tied for seventh in three-pointers made (100) and third in adjusted field goal percentage (.627). He has hit a three-pointer in his last 110 games, the longest streak in NBA history. Korver ranks fifth among active players (11th in league history) in 3FG% (.422) and 13th among active players (23rd all-time) with 1423 three-pointers made.
