Hawks Select Brasfield & Gorrie To Build New Practice Facility

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club along with their partners at Emory Healthcare announced earlier today that Brasfield & Gorrie General Contractors was awarded the contract to serve as construction manager for their 90,000-square foot training and sports medicine center in Brookhaven. The center will be a world class training and sports medicine center. Atlanta-based construction and management firm H.J. Russell & Company, in association with Legends Project Development, are serving as the project management team for the project.

Brasfield & Gorrie is one of the largest privately held construction firms in the nation. Brasfield & Gorrie has served as the primary construction manager for several landmark Atlanta facilities including the Georgia Aquarium and the College Football Hall of Fame. They are also part of a joint venture, American Builders 2017, which was selected by Cobb County and the Atlanta Braves as the construction manager for SunTrust Park.

The Hawks’ new facility will be the first in the NBA to be co-located with an entire sports medicine center and feature the most advanced technology in sports medicine and athletic care. The team will break ground on the facility this summer.
