Hawks To Open Season At Home Vs. Pistons On Tuesday, Oct. 27 At 8 PM

ATLANTA -- The National Basketball Association today released the 2015-16 regular season schedule and announced the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club will begin the season at Philips Arena, hosting the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, Oct. 27th (8 p.m.). After visiting New York on Thursday, Oct. 29th, the Hawks will return home to face the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, Oct. 30th (8 p.m.). Tickets for the first two home games are on-sale now

All of Atlanta’s Monday-through-Friday home games will feature 8 p.m. tip times, with the exception of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday game on Monday, Jan. 18th against Orlando (5 p.m.) and vs. Indiana on Feb. 5th (7 p.m.). Saturday games will tip at 7:30 p.m. except for contests with San Antonio on Dec. 12th (8 p.m.) and Chicago on Jan. 9th (5 p.m.), while Sunday game times will vary.

All games will air on the Hawks’ flagship radio station, CBS RADIO’S SportsRadio 92-9 The Game, as well as partner stations on the Hawks Radio Network with “Voice of the Hawks” Steve Holman calling the action. The complete Hawks local television schedule will be released at a later date.

Atlanta will appear on national television 17 times, including twice on TNT – at New York (Oct. 29th) and vs. Boston (Nov. 24th), six times on ESPN – at Dallas (Dec. 9th), at Portland (Jan. 20th), vs. Indiana (Feb. 5th), vs. Chicago (Feb. 26th), at Los Angeles Lakers (Mar. 4th) and vs. Cleveland (Apr. 1st), and nine times on NBA TV – at Miami (Nov. 3rd), vs. San Antonio (Dec. 12th), vs. Orlando (Jan. 18th), vs. Golden State (Feb. 22nd), at Golden State (Mar. 1st), vs. Indiana (Mar. 13th), at Chicago (Mar. 28th), at Toronto (Mar. 30th) and at Cleveland (Apr. 11th).

Atlanta will face each Eastern Conference club four times - except for Cleveland and Philadelphia (one home/two road), Milwaukee and Brooklyn (two home/one road) - and every Western Conference opponent twice. The Hawks will play 19 of the 41 home games on weekends (seven Friday/nine Saturday/three Sunday).

Notable home matchups include contests with the Cleveland Cavaliers (Friday, Apr. 1st), Golden State Warriors (Monday, Feb. 22nd), Washington Wizards (Saturday, Nov. 7th and Monday, Mar. 21st), San Antonio Spurs (Saturday, Dec. 12th) and Los Angeles Clippers (Wednesday, Jan. 27th).

Atlanta plays four-of-the-first-seven games on the road and finishes the season with four-of-the-final-six at home. The Hawks’ longest homestand of the season is from Friday, Feb. 19th through Sunday, Feb. 28th (five consecutive), which is immediately followed by the Hawks’ longest road trip (five straight from Tuesday, Mar. 1st through Thursday, Mar. 10th).

Atlanta finishes the first half of the schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at Chicago and returns after the break on Friday, Feb. 19th hosting Miami.

The Hawks will play 19 back-to-back sets, including two home/home back-to-backs (Friday, Feb. 19th vs. Miami and Saturday Feb. 20th vs. Milwaukee; Saturday, Mar. 12th vs. Memphis and Sunday, Mar. 13th vs. Indiana), three home/road, nine road/home and five road/road. The busiest months of the home schedule are November, December and February (eight games each), while the Hawks play 10 road contests in January and March.
