4 Hawks Who Benefited From Coach Bud Resting Players

Jeff Teague, Paul Millsap and Kent Bazemore had the night off in our 91-84 win over the Dallas Mavericks Friday.  In addition to giving them some rest, Coach Bud also got a chance to play some of the other players more minutes.  Here are a few who impressed us:

1)  Shelvin Mack

Mack got some extended time Friday, serving as the backup point guard with Dennis Schröder sliding into the starting role.  Mack excelled, going 6-12 from the field and scoring 11 of his 13 points in the second half.

2)  Lamar Patterson

With Bazemore resting, Patterson entered earlier than normal.  He played 21 minutes, connecting on 3 of his 6 shots while grabbing 4 boards and 2 steals.

3)  Mike Muscala

Muscala didn't play in Wednesday's game against San Antonio, but Bud used him as the backup power forward with Millsap out Friday.  Muscala continues to test his range in the preseason.  He hit 1 of 2 threes, scoring 7 points in all and had 4 rebounds.

4)  Thabo Sefolosha

Sefolosha played in just his second preseason game Friday, once again coming off the bench.  Coach Bud said he's going to bring Sefolosha along slowly.  He played 14 minutes, made both of his shot attempts and grabbed 3 boards.
