Grizzlies Announce Formation of Sierra Wright Scholarship Fund

Memphis, Tennessee, March 3, 2003 - Memphis Grizzlies players and staff have joined to express their support of their teammate Lorenzen Wright by establishing the "Sierra Simone Wright Scholarship Fund" in memory of Wright's 11-month-old daughter who died on Saturday. The scholarship fund will grant an annual scholarship to a deserving Memphis area high school senior with plans to attend a Memphis area college or university.

The Grizzlies encourage all fellow players and teams throughout the NBA, Grizzlies fans and the public to show their respects and support by making a donation to the scholarship fund. All donations are tax-deductible. In lieu of flowers, the Wright family asks that support be expressed to the scholarship fund.
