Grizzlies acquire future 1st Round Draft Pick & Lance Stephenson from Clippers

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced that the team has acquired a future first round draft pick and guard Lance Stephenson from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for forward Jeff Green.

Stephenson (6-5, 230) owns career averages of 8.3 points (.448 FG/.305 3P/.671 FT), 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 25.0 minutes in 314 games (186 starts) over six seasons for the Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers. The 25-year-old has appeared in 42 playoff games (38 starts), all with the Pacers, and averaged 10.6 points (.430 FG/.323 3P/.670 FT), 6.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33.1 minutes in postseason action.

A 2009 McDonald’s All-American, the Brooklyn native was drafted by Indiana in the second round (40th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft following his freshman season at the University of Cincinnati. He recorded 4.7 points (.494 FG/.404 3P/.700 FT), 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 15.8 minutes in 43 games (10 starts) for the Clippers this season, his first in Los Angeles.

Green (6-9, 235) holds career averages of 14.1 points (.439 FG/.340 3P/.791 FT), 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 32.3 minutes in 609 games (463 starts) over eight seasons with the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies. The 29-year-old averaged 12.6 points (.429 FG/.336 3P/.812 FT), 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29.6 minutes in 98 games (68 starts) with the Grizzlies after he was acquired from the Celtics on Jan. 12, 2015.

The Cheverly, Md. native was selected by Boston in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft following his junior season at Georgetown University and traded to Seattle on draft night.
