Grizzlies prepare for 2013-14 Season with Round Town Tour

MEMPHIS, September 13, 2013– The Grizzlies invite Grizz Nation to celebrate the upcoming 2013-14 season with appearances all around Memphis throughout the month of September and October. 

Grizzlies’ fans of all ages are encouraged to join Grizzlies players, coaches, Grizz and the Grizz Girls in a festive setting at the Cooper Young and Big Scoop Ice Cream festivals, Levitt Shell and block parties around Memphis that will continue into October.

September will feature the Grizzlies brand of excitement at the upcoming Cooper Young Festival where fans can enjoy live music, photo booths, appearances from Grizz and the Grizz Girls and a hospitality tent for Rookie Season Ticket holders with refreshments from Jets Pizza, Coors and Aquafina. The next stop on the tour is Grizzlies Night at Levitt Shell where fans are invited to a free night of live music from John Paul Keith. A hospitality tent is available for invited Veteran MVPs.

The September and October Grizzlies Block Parties, in partnership with the City of Memphis Department of Parks and Neighborhoods, will tip-off with the Sep. 24 block party at Southside Park. Mayor A.C. Wharton, and members of TruGreen, will open the event at 5 p.m. for the unveiling of the Southside Park basketball court at 5 p.m. Jerryd Bayless and new Grizzlies Assistant Coach Duane Ticknor will be in attendance from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The 19thAnnual Big Scoop Ice Cream Festival at Autozone Park will appease fans of all ages looking for that endless scoop of ice cream. Tickets for this Ronald McDonald House fundraiser are $7 in advance and $10 at the gate. The Grizzlies Claw Crew will be in attendance at the right field concourse. Fans who register for Grizzlies E-News will receive a voucher for two free tickets to a pre-season game.
