500 tickets to be given away for Opening Night

Zach Randolph purchases tickets to be given away tomorrow, Dec. 27 in FedExForum Grand Lobby at 3 p.m.

MEMPHIS, December 20, 2011— Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Randolph has added to the excitement of the start of the Grizzlies season by purchasing 500 tickets that will be handed out in the Grand Lobby of FedExForum starting at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 27.

The Grizzlies forward wanted to help get the City of Memphis excited for a full season of grit and grind, and to encourage members of Grizz Nation to bring the intensity and atmosphere from last season’s  Playoff run back to FedExForum on Opening Night.

“Last season during the Playoffs, FedExForum became one of the toughest buildings in the league to play in, due in large part to the fans and the excitement they brought each and every game,” said Zach Randolph.  “I’m proud to be part of this Grizzlies team and this city and we want that same atmosphere for Opening Night and the rest of the season.”

Tickets will be distributed on a first come-first-served-basis.  There will be a limit of two tickets per person.

The Grizzlies Opening Night 2011 Playoff rematch against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 28, presented by First Tennessee, will feature Memphis’ entertainment icons of tomorrow while celebrating our Playoff past as the Grizzlies look to the future both on and off the court with the most anticipated season in franchise history. Pregame entertainment on Opening Night will incorporate a special Jookin’ dance exhibition featuring Memphis native and international performing sensation Lil Buck and Garry Goin and the Memphis Grizzlies House Band. Halftime is set to feature FreeSol, who, coming off their appearance on Late Night with David Letterman, will electrify Grizz Nation with their fresh hip-hop/rock hybrid of Memphis and southern sound.
