Grizzlies get back to winning ways with 107-102 victory over Lakers

The Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in a 107-102 match at FedExForum, improving to a 7-1 record, remaining undefeated at home (3-0).

Mike Conley scored a team-best 23 points in 35 minutes. Forward Zach Randolph finished with his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and hauling in 10 rebounds in 30 minutes.

The Grizzlies’ bench shined tonight, outscoring the Lakers second unit 38-14. Kosta Koufos (14 points) and Beno Udrih (16 points) both recorded season highs in points and became the first Grizzlies reserves to reach double figures in scoring in a game this season. Koufos shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and Udrih recorded his highest scoring total since joining the Grizzlies last season.

Lakers guard Kobe Bryant led his team in scoring and now has put up 20 points in six-straight games, including tonight's 28 point effort. Bryant passed Michael Jordan for third in NBA history in career field goal attempts, and somewhat dubiously, also set the league record for the most missed shots in NBA history, surpassing John Havlicek's mark of 13,417 missed field goals.

The team posted .526 shooting (41-of-78 FG) from the field, improving to 49-5 since the start of the 2011-12 season when shooting .500 or better from the floor.

The Grizzlies will tip-off again on Thursday, Nov. 13 against the Sacramento Kings at FedExForum.
