Jerome Jordan scored 13 points in the Grizzlies’ 92-88 road loss to the Bulls on Tuesday. Ronald Murray added 11 points, Marreese Speights had nine and Zach Randolph finished with eight points and seven rebounds in the loss. The Grizzlies outscored the Bulls 23-11 in the final quarter but could not complete the rally.

Coach Hollins
On their play tonight:
“As a unit, we just didn't play well. That was especially true in the 2nd half. I thought in the 3rd quarter we just came out sluggish. I made changes but they didn't work and we had too many turnovers. I thought Jordan and Dupree played decently. We just have to play better and with more force. To win in this league, the key is to have mental toughness. We didn't and that was big for them. Their defense was really tough in the 2nd half.”
On his player selections:
“I just played who I wanted. There was no pressure at all. This is what the preseason is for. I didn't play Marc or Tony in the 2nd half or Mike Conley. We lost this because of our sloppy play and lack of concentration. Turnovers were a big key. We just have to execute better and learn to play better. Flinging up bad shots and throwing the ball right to them leads to the fast break points like they got tonight. It started a little in the 2nd quarter but the 3rd is where it really happened to us. I've told everyone if guys want to be in the rotation, they have to want it. I'll play the starting 5 and then a 6th, 7th or 8th person if I have to. I've done it before. In the 4th quarter we attacked the basket and got some shots which got us back in the game. But they also didn't have most of their guys on the court.”
Tony Allen
On what he learned about his team:
“We're still a work in progress. For the most part, I like how we shared the ball and ran the floor well. However, those good things didn't bring us a win. There is no such thing as a moral victory.”
On playing against his brother:
“I told him he should play off me and guard the shooter but he wasn't listening. It was special to be out there against him. I'm sure Mom was teared up but if she was, they were tears of joy. It was nice to see all that Chi-town talent out there. With Nazr and Derrick out there.”
