Grand Opening Set For Grizzlies’ Opening Night On November 5 at 7 p.m.
MEMPHIS, October 25, 2012 — FedExForum and the Memphis Grizzlies announced today that they have partnered with Charles Vergos’ Rendezvous to be the official provider of Memphis barbecue for all FedExForum events. Rendezvous will have five locations inside FedExForum and is set to have its grand opening November 5 as the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Utah Jazz at 7 p.m.
Rendezvous, a national landmark, revolutionized the barbecue business across the country. The key to the unique taste in all the Rendezvous products is its seasoning, which is a spice that can enhance and compliment everything from pork to chicken. They were the first major restaurant in the U.S. to serve barbeque ribs as its main entrée and are the originator of what some call dry ribs.
“FedExForum is excited to form a partnership with Charles Vergos’ Rendezvous to become the official barbecue provider for all FedExForum events including all Grizzlies’ games,” said President of Business Operations Greg Campbell. “The City of Memphis is synonymous with barbeque and Rendezvous epitomizes the local barbecue tradition and we are proud to offer Rendezvous menu items to our fans beginning Opening Night.”
Beginning on Opening Night, Rendezvous will serve their famous barbecued pork and chicken nachos along with barbecued pork and chicken sandwiches. They will also serve barbecue flavored popcorn and other side items and will look to expand their offerings in the future. Rendezvous will be located on the Plaza Level at Section 106 and near Section 116, on the First Tennessee Club Level near the Blue Note Lounge and on the Terrace Level at Section 216 and near Section 228.
