The Grizzlies will tour the Mid-South for their Third Annual 2015 Regional Caravan tour, set to tip-off on Friday, Aug. 28 and continuing throughout September with a tour-high eight scheduled stops in Nashville (TN ), St. Louis (MO), Little Rock (AR), Jackson (TN), Jackson (MS) and Memphis. Grizzlies players and personalities will attend local attractions in each host city to get Grizz Nation excited about the return of Grizzlies basketball in the Bluff City.
This year’s tour includes participation from a tour-high five players including Tony Allen, Brandan Wright, Jordan Adams, Jarnell Stokes and Russ Smith. The players will join team mascot Grizz, members of the Grizz Girls and the Claw Crew on this year’s sports tour which includes visits to the MiLB’s Arkansas Travelers, Jackson Generals, Mississippi Braves, and Memphis’ own Redbirds, while also caravanning to Busch Stadium in St. Louis. During these stops, the Grizzlies invite Grizz Nation fans of all ages to join them in celebrating the new 2015-16 campaign.
Fans attending these caravan stops will have the chance to get autographs, photo opportunities and participate in contests and games with the team’s players and personalities as the Grizzlies seek to capture the Grit & Grind spirit in the Mid-South region.
“As we enter our 15th season, our fanbase and impact have grown far beyond the city limits and borders of Memphis and Shelby County,” said Vice President of Marketing Communications and Broadcast John Pugliese. “Through these Regional Caravan events, our continued growth of our radio and TV coverage, the inclusion of localized fan connection activities - such as fan clubs, watch parties and other regional programs such as Jr. Grizzlies Basketball camps, clinics and leagues - we will continue to engage and grow Grizz Nation throughout the Mid-South.”
In addition, the Grizzlies have partnered with the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau to offer fans at each regional stop some amazing prizes. Fans will have the opportunity to win a “Weekend to Memphis Getaway Package” for two at each of these caravan stops by signing up for Grizzlies E-News. The package includes a two-night hotel stay at The Peabody Memphis, tickets to a Grizzlies game, Grizzlies swag and passes to local Memphis attractions.
